Computer Essentials - Introduction

Efficient use of technology in a work setting requires basic knowledge in several areas: the PC operating system, software applications (Microsoft Office), and communicating professionally. In this class, you will learn about the Windows operating system and its tools, and how to manage software, files, and folders. We will explore basic word processing using MS Word 2016, learn about spreadsheets with Excel 2016, and explore common features of databases. Lastly, we will touch on basic customer service techniques common in various work settings. This hands-on course is for beginning computer users in the workforce.

 

Computer Essentials Part II

We will cover more advanced topics in MS Word and Excel 2016, including labels and mail merges, and examine accounting software programs used in business and office settings.

Students must complete our ‘Computer Essentials-Introduction’ course or have experience using Word and Excel spreadsheets.
