CRMA Certified Residential Medication Assistant - Jan.

This 40 hour CRMA course includes classroom, with clinical available after successful completion of classroom. All students must complete clinical, either with our instructor or arranged through your facility. Successful students will be certified to administer oral medications to residents in state-licensed assisted living facilities. Certification is valid for two years. Clinical component is an additional $125 cost if done with the MCST instructor. Please call 596-7752 option 3 for an application. This is a daytime Friday course.
PSS - Personal Support Specialist - Jan.

This 50 hour course prepares participants to work in home health care or residential settings. Personal care, communication skills, observing, reporting and documentation, how to provide care safely and deal with emergencies, consumer rights, aging and illness are among the topics taught. State certification is awarded upon successful completion of skill components and written exam. This is a daytime Monday class.

Machining Basics - Jan.

This course is for beginner students. Included is basic machine shop safety, determining speeds and feeds, proper use of dial calipers and micrometers, theory, and basic set up and operations of a milling machine and lathe; math tutorial available. Bring safety glasses and wear reinforced-toe shoes to class.
Welding - MIG I

This 36-hour course is for students with no prior or little experience in MIG welding. This course will cover shop safety, trouble-shooting problems, machine settings, basic metal joints and how to weld them. Safety is covered in the first two sessions and students will be given access to an online industry recognized training course in Welding Safety through S/P2®.
Outboard Basics

Get to know how your outboard motor works. Classroom time will include an overview of 2 & 4 stroke gas powered motors; the engine and its components, and the electronic fuel injection system. Shop skills will include changing oil, draining the carburetor, and the basic maintenance schedule. Our workshop will provide the motors for instruction. If time allows, individual projects may be introduced with permission from the instructor.

Computer Essentials - Intro - Feb..

Efficient use of technology in a work setting requires basic knowledge in several areas: the PC operating system, software applications (Microsoft Office), and communicating professionally. In this class, you will learn about the Windows operating system and its tools, and how to manage software, files, and folders. We will explore basic word processing using MS Word 2016, learn about spreadsheets with Excel 2016, and examine common features of databases. Lastly, we will touch on basic customer service techniques common in various work settings. This hands-on course is for beginning computer users in the workforce.
CNA Certified Nursing Assistant-Feb.

Students enrolled in this Certificate program complete 200 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical experience, which meet all state licensing requirements. Upon successful completion of the course and passage of the State Competency Exam, the student will be eligible to enter the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant under the direction of a licensed nurse. Call 596-7752 opt.3 for an application. Class size is limited so applying early is advised. This is a daytime course on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
