Automotive Tech - Introduction 2.17

with Tom Vannah

Class has begun

This 10 week course will give you a basic understanding of your automobile as well as provide a launching pad to careers or further study at a community college level. We will cover the following topics, aligned to ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) standards: Foundation and Safety, Basic Engine and Auto Transmission Fundamentals/Service, Steering System and Suspension, and Brakes. By completion of class, the student will have a solid understanding of lubrication, fluids, tires, vehicle maintenance, and how systems work. Safety is covered in the first two sessions and students will be assigned safety modules to study at home.

This is not a bring-in-your-own-vehicle repair class; applied learning will occur in the shop on a demo vehicle. Protective eye wear and steel-toed footwear required.
