Plumbing Basics - Oct.

Master Plumber demonstrates how plumbing works in a home, discusses preventative maintenance and shows you how to tackle common problems and make simple repairs. He will show you how to install or repair faucets, repair a toilet, clear drain clogs, sweat a pipe, determine what type of piping and fittings to use for specific projects, and when to call a professional. Food Preservation - Canning

Did you grow a big garden this year and are looking for ways to preserve your bounty? This workshop will teach you the steps to safe canning with a water bath canner. Participants will receive a “Preserving the Harvest” food preservation packet, and will learn recommended methods for preserving foods, the latest and safest recipes, about equipment to insure safety and how to check for properly sealed jars. Please bring a potholder with you to the workshop.
Food Preservation - Relish

Join UMaine Extension staff to learn how to turn the bounty of your fall garden or farm share into delicious relishes that you can enjoy all year long (and give out at the holidays). Relish is a versatile way to preserve a range of vegetables and even fruits. All of the equipment and supplies will be provided and participants will get to take home a jar of what we make in class as well as a "Preserving the Harvest" food preservation packet.
Welding - MIG II (Advanced) - Nov.

This 36-hour course is for students with prior MIG welding experience, and students who have previously taken the MIG I course. The course will cover advanced machine setup, advanced weld joint setup, and multi-pass welding in hard wire and flux core MIG. Reduce YOUR risk of injuries and fatalities with proper OSHA-compliant lift certification. Two separate sessions are offered; choose the one you prefer.
