Calendar May 6, 2024 at 5:15 pm, runs for 3 weeks

For beginning woodworkers with basic hand tool knowledge, this intriguing 3-session introductory course builds your skills as we learn the process of creating a bat house, providing a place for bats to roost and raise their young safely. This project employs woodworking principles and techniques necessary for shop orientation and safety, project review involving building requirements, drawings, and building materials. Learn how to plan the work, build with various woodworking tools, and determine decorative elements and installation aspects. At the final class, students have a completed bat house to finish and install at home or donate! A student supply list is available upon registration. Each student will also need to bring a materials fee of $65 (cash or check made payable to the instructor) for the material kit they will receive at the first class meeting. You will also need your own safety glasses, hearing protection, lightweight work gloves, pencils, white artists eraser, and closed toe shoes.
