This two night class will be an exploration of how to utilize eBay, the on-line auction, as a buyer or seller. We will walk you through how to create an account, the eBay fee structure, and the anatomy of a sale. Describing and photographing items, tips, tricks, and pitfalls will be discussed. A short discussion about tax liability and eBay No-No’s will be included. Laptop computers will be available for your use. This course is for the eBay novice or dabbler, so bring your questions to class for discussion.
Cyber Safety - Security for All Internet Users - Sept.

Scammers and schemers are organized, and they are actively targeting you. Learn about the tricks and tactics they use to gain your personal information and access to your finances. You will see they are VERY organized and VERY good at what they do. How do you or your elderly parent avoid becoming victims of their schemes? It all starts with gaining the knowledge and awareness of the practices to stay safe. What do you do if you have been breached by their schemes? In this information session, you will learn about common scenarios that are used to “get” your precious information, and, most importantly, you’ll learn how to spot them immediately, avoid falling into their traps, and take action if you realize you have been a victim. This class will present via Zoom, if necessary.

Join Danica for an introductory class in crochet (that’s the one with the hook, not the two needles). Crochet is a really quick and fun way to make some unique and trendy items, including those faux fur pom-poms! Learn about the different types of yarn, hooks, stitches, sources, and how to read a pattern. Once you get started, choose a beginner or intermediate pattern to crochet a hat, scarf, or cowl of your very own! The first class includes starter materials; students will then choose their own project and materials with instructor guidance. This is a course for beginners or those that would like a refresher; the class can run on a Zoom format, if necessary.
Watercolors - online - Sept.

Designed for those who wish to acquire or improve their basic skills in watercolor painting. You’ll be introduced to new skills and approaches each week, with plenty of class time to work on a painting and get instructor feedback. A list of student-grade watercolor paints, brushes, paper and sundries is viewable below. This class is conducted entirely via Zoom.
The Worry Machine

Uncertainty is all around us, especially when the news is full of COVID19 updates and so much conflicting information. To cope with all this uncertainty, many of us turn to our oldest coping tool we know, “The Worry Machine.” We hope it will help to predict the future and avoid nasty surprises. It does not work and really never has. Let’s come together and find a better tool or two…ones we can share with others who are suffering from Worry Machine overload. Denise has developed “Backyard Herbalism” topics over the years as her study of herbs gardening grew throughout the Northeast, and locally at Avena Botanicals and Merryspring Gardens. Getting good sleep is vital to keeping us energized during the day and supporting our overall health, yet it’s elusive for so many people. There are many plants that can support peaceful sleep by taking them before bed or throughout the day in addition to building a night time ritual that supports the body to slow down and rest deeply. In this presentation we’ll talk about how to grow some of these plants and learn about some basic preparations of how to use them. Also discussed will be plants for dreaming and plants that can help stimulate us in the morning as an alternate to coffee as well. This class can be presented via Zoom, if necessary.
