This course is designed for those of you who have decided to take the plunge and try their hand at short-term rentals. Let’s get you up and running. Practical ‘how to’ information, along with individual student’s needs, will steer this course. We’ll go through the process of setting up everyone’s profile and account, as well as talk about the best way to take photos, get those uploaded and placed in the profile. We’ll take a close look at nightly rates based on each facility, amenities, location, and time of year. We’ll discuss insurance options and any other factors that should be considered.

Many providers and patients in Maine are still not familiar with Maine’s Death with Dignity Act. In effect since September 2019, the law permits physicians to practice medical aid-in-dying under specific circumstances. Join this class to get fact-based information and all the details you need to know about Maine’s law, how to have the conversation with your physician, and how to qualify for the law or support your loved ones who may be qualifying.
Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, Part II

This class is for those students who have taken Part I, or those who want to go ‘beyond the basics’. This class will take value scales and create value studies, use shading techniques and light studies, use viewfinders to render more accurate drawings and perspective, and take line and contour sketches to manifest quick and elegant gesture drawings. This fun class will give students confidence and insight into creating their own personal style and art. Materials: Drawing pencils, white rubber eraser, black fine-point pen, charcoal stick, and drawing pad (at least 8” x 10”). (Many of these materials will be available to 'try' and experiment with in class, so students can identify which are best for them). Please note: The book and workbook purchase is highly recommended!

QuickBooks (Online Version)-Advanced Applications

This Intuit-approved course is a live, instructor-led advanced course using Windows OS and is suitable for experienced QuickBooks users. It is a Microsoft Office Suite course using official course material and will cover advanced features in QuickBooks. Prerequisite: QuickBooks Basics/Intermediate course or instructor’s permission.This course provides the MOS certification pathway (no expiration) for interested students, and students may elect to take the official exam when ready. Call the Adult Ed office for separate purchase details of the required printed textbook/eBook which accompanies this course (same materials from QuickBooks Basics & Intermediate course.) PLEASE NOTE: In class, students will use MCST provided laptops, but all students will need Windows OS operating computers at home in order to do homework assignments. If you have not previously taken a QuickBooks course at MCST please be sure to complete the 2-part form at this link before the first class.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles - a model odyssey

Apply your artistic expression to scale objects with plastic modeling. For those who like hands-on activities to make things that are unique, challenging, and rewarding, modeling knows no limits. This course will teach anyone age 16+ from the very basics to the more advanced, and anything in between. During a six-week time frame, we'll cover good fundamental techniques of modeling along with painting techniques to help you create something to be enjoyed and treasured when completed. Choose your subject matter: cars, planes, boats, buildings, animals, human figures, science fiction, and beyond. Come with your chosen model* and be prepared to have a great time making new friends and building something just for you. The class starts at a beginner level with opportunities for increased complexity as the course proceeds.
