You Want to Write - Creative Writing Boot Camp

Do you want to write? With a little help, you can! In 6 weeks, you’ll produce many short pieces you have yet to imagine: no excuses, no inner dialogue, no internal editor, no rationalizations. One day prior to class, you will receive a prompt: a word, image, or phrase. You will draft a piece based on the prompt and join your fellow writers to share what you’ve written. Trust the process. Be amazed. You and your classmates have wondrous stories to tell when prompted.

Color Wheels Aturning: Creating an Artist’s Palette - ONLINE ONLY

Presented via Zoom, this course will help you develop ways to produce the color you are seeking within your artwork. You will also learn how to intensify or subdue color vibrancy and see how it affects the mood of your finished painting. You will create a color wheel, make a value chart, and put your newfound knowledge to work producing artwork with a limited palette. A short supply list is available when you register.
Drying Flowers

What is different about arranging dry flowers versus fresh cut flowers? This is a popular topic because the flowers look so beautiful and they last. Don’t miss this one! Google Drive

This course will cover the use of Google Docs, Sharing files, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. Students will need a (free) Gmail account to participate in this class. The first night covers Docs & Sharing Files: How to navigate the Doc toolbar, design, save and recall your documents, all geared to optimal organization and communication, plus Sharing Files: what the options are for sharing of documents as well as good protocol for sharing. We will cover how you and your team (of 2 to 100) can all work from one document. Google Sheets (the spreadsheet piece in Google Drive) and Google Slides (the feature that allows users to make slideshows for presentations) will be covered in the second class. We will cover the basics as well as copyright permissions; as time permits, other advanced features will be covered.

What do you do if you’ve been breached? In this information session, you’ll learn about common scenarios that are used to get your precious information, and you’ll learn how to spot them immediately, avoid falling into their traps, and take action if you realize you’ve been a victim.
Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) September

This 40-hour CRMA course includes classroom training, with clinical available after successful completion of classroom. All students must complete clinical, either with our instructor or arranged through your facility. Successful students will be certified to administer oral medications to residents in state-licensed assisted living facilities. Clinical component is an additional $125 if done with MCST instructor. There are funding opportunities available for this class! Contact Adult Ed for an application.
Machining Part 1 (Fall 2022)

This course is for beginner students. Included is basic machine shop safety, determining speeds and feeds, proper use of dial calipers and micrometers, theory, and basic set up and operations of a milling machine and lathe. Upon course completion, students may enroll in Machining, Part II offered in the Winter/Spring semester. Bring safety glasses and wear reinforced-toe shoes to class. Please be sure to complete the 3-part form at this link before the first class.
